As our next Public Service Commissioner, Julie Quinn will: 

  • Protect consumer rates and pass-through spending 

  • Work towards Louisiana’s energy independence

  • Hold utility companies accountable for creating and maintaining a resilient grid

  • Rein in unnecessary utility company spending that results in rising utility rates

  • Oppose liberal-thinking Green New Deal initiatives that are unrealistic and costly

  • Expand the sale of energy created in LA to other states, resulting in a surplus passed on to the consumer

  • Explore micro-nuclear facilities to lower utility rates

  • Require in-person customer service centers

  • Replace Louisiana’s non-compliant, poorly maintained water systems

  • Transition to water delivery systems that meet or exceed high-quality standards

  • Promote transparency in billing

  • Be accessible and responsive to consumers

  • The goals of the Public Service Commission are as follows: Promulgate and enforce reasonable and transparent rules, regulations, and procedures for the fair and effi- cient regulation of public utilities and common carriers, and for carrying out constitutional and legislative mandates in the State of Louisiana.

  • The Louisiana Public Service Commission regulates areas of the Motor Carrier, Telecommunications, Electric, Gas, Water and Sewerage industries.

  • The Louisiana Public Service Commission has jurisdiction over non-municipally owned and/or operated utilities providing electric, water, wastewater, natural gas, and telecommunication services, as well as all the electric cooperatives in Louisiana.

About Julie

Former State Senator Julie Quinn is an attorney specializing in business law and governmental affairs. Julie advises Louisiana businesses on employment matters, contracts, and litigation. As a former school board member, Julie created the first magnet school in Jefferson Parish, paving the way for the highly successful magnet school system. As a freshman state senator, Julie passed a constitutional amendment protecting public education funding.
